Vision

On September 17, 1787, George Washington, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document whose first three words – “We the People” affirm that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.

For over two centuries the Constitution has remained in force because its framers wisely separated and balanced governmental powers to safeguard the interests of majority rule and minority rights, of liberty and equality, and of the federal and state governments. Since 1789, the Constitution has evolved through amendments to meet the changing needs of a nation now profoundly different from the 18th-century world of the founders.

Constitution Day Centre Celebration is sponsored by Constitution Day Centre  Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the U.S. Constitution as the heart of American democracy.

Mission

We encourage all Americans to observe Constitution Day as one of the most important holidays in our nation's history. Each year, we will sponsor a free one-day fest on/near Sept. 17 at sites in Centre County. For 2020, our celebration will be at Tussey Mountain, Boalsburg, on a September afternoon. Date TBA.

The public event aims to bring together Central PA residents and visitors of all viewpoints to explore and discuss Constitutional rights, responsibilities, and protections.  Family-friendly activities include Constitution Articles and Amendment exhibits by local groups, inspiring speakers, music bands, free Constitution birthday cake, and local food trucks.

Constitution Day Centre Inc. funds this event through generous individual and corporate contributions, and memberships. Please consider being a part of this patriotic event.
